After a day of shooting in Northwest Michigan on October 20, I made my way back to Illinois on Sunday morning.  St. Joseph is one of the lighthouses on the western shore of Michigan that I had never visited before, so I took a small detour to head out to the park to break up the drive home.  The cool conditions from Saturday continued into Sunday as did the very high wind off of Lake Michigan.  Waves at St. Joseph were probably 8 foot, often washing over the catwalk leading out to the two lights.  The first two photos give a good perspective of the size and strength of the waves looking out to the light from the shore.
